Your first session : the unknown
Your first session will be about your reasons for therapy, what you want to achieve from therapy and agreeing how to work with your therapist. Working together includes discussing how often you will meet, time of meeting, fees and sharing contact details. A written agreement between client and counsellor will act as a reference for therapy sessions. The first session is generally longer than 50 minutes where your therapist will ask you a number of questions including family history. All information is confidential.
