Counselling in Covid-19

It's been a while since I posted. Covid-19 has hit us all in different ways, some harder than others. I took on a new opportunity to expand my counselling skills and population group beyond older adults. I've learned much through the people I've supported as we explored innate strengths and skills to investigate a problem and look for a solution to create change. We've used knitting needles, coloured pens, and small pieces of paper to give shape to anger and the rollercoaster of emotions, or cross-communication of expectations between two people. Telecounselling may create a barrier but it also offers a sense of anonymity and confidentiality as we try to address a problem brought to a session.
